What Is Spyware?

Spyware is a type of malware that secretly gathers data from a computer and relays info to a third party. The usual goal of this malware is to steal banking info and passwords, although spyware also enables someone to monitor online behavior or eavesdrop on calls.

All spyware installs on target computers without the user's authorization. The two most common infection methods are drive-by downloads and trojans hidden within programs or emails.
