What Is a Learning Management System?

A learning management system is a type of software used in eLearning for planning, administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and automation of learning programs.

The system consists of an application server that performs requested tasks and a graphic user interface used by teachers and students.

Teachers, professors, and instructors use the software to administer learning materials, hold virtual classes, and conduct knowledge assessments. Students are on the receiving end, using the software to access learning materials, submit homework and other projects, attend classes, and partake in knowledge assessments.
