What Is Paravirtualization?

Paravirtualization is a type of virtualization where a guest operating system in a virtual machine can interact with the hypervisor.

The guest operating system is aware of the hypervisor and communicates through hypercalls to improve system performance. The hypervisor provides virtualized components (such as virtual CPU and virtual memory) to perform tasks.

Compared to full virtualization, paravirtualization provides better performance, lower overhead, and improved security.
