A peer-to-peer (P2P) network is a computer network architecture where all participants, called peers, have equal data processing permissions and responsibilities.
Compared to a client-server network, where roles are clearly defined, peers take on both client- and server-related duties. That way, the workload typically assigned to a server is equally distributed and delegated to peers instead.
